Picture this: you crash without removing your makeup (gross). When you wake up, you take to removing all that black eyeliner under your eyes, only it’s not coming off. And if it ain’t coming off, there’s only one other possible explanation: you’ve got dark undereye circles. AGAIN. Dammit.
If this has ever happened to you, holla atcha girl (although in my case, one time it was actually a black eye, but that’s a story for another time).

There are TONS of lifestyle factors that can lead to a chronic case of dark undereye circles, although some just lost the genetic lottery and are pre-disposed to them. But if you’re positive a lifestyle of partying too hard has contributed, then THIS IS THE EYE PRODUCT FOR YOU (and for me).
According to Jan Marini’s website, their Dark Circle Eye Defense combats the 5 primary causes of dark circles:
♥ Blood leakage
♥ Iron discoloration
♥ Inflammation
♥ Thin and fragile skin
♥ Pigmentation
Any of those sound familiar? Thin and fragile skin? Inflammation? OBVS, some of these things come mostly/only with age, not just after a late night full of bad decisions. But if you’re consistently partying harder than the average girl, you’re aging faster than her too. AND THAT’S WHY YOU NEED THIS.
Contrary to popular belief, partying hard doesn’t actually CAUSE dark undereye circles, but it does exacerbate them. If you’re up all night drinking, you’re most likely dealing with a serious case of dehydration and lack of sleep. Both of those thin out your skin, thus “de-plumping” it and making the capillaries under your eyes more visible.
Dark Circle Eye Defense, or DCED as I will call is so I don’t have to keep typing the long name, comes in these little gold capsules. You twist the small part off, then squeeze the product out and apply it to your eye area. The texture of it is less “creamy” and more like that of a serum. It utilizes peptides & all-trans-retinol to repair your fragile undereye skin while you sleep off your hangover.
Beyond decreasing the icky darkness under your eyes, it also improves texture, fights wrinkles, and hydrates. My overabused eye area is now as soft as Paris Hilton’s hands, because you know she ain’t never had a callous in her life.
The best thing about DCED is that it not only treats dark circles, it also PREVENTS them from forming, and if you do still have them, they aren’t as dark and pronounced as they could be. If you need some proof, I present you my Monday morning “just woke-up,” makeup-free, pre-cleansed, unedited face (taken in front of a window).
I still have some darkness, but look how MINIMAL it is. I spent the past 72 hours running around IMATS, bawling over my puppy, drinking tons of tequila, and getting only about 12 hours of sleep, total. I should look more Lindsey Lohan than I do right now! I’ve been using DCED for just under a month, and I’m already in so much love.
Unfortch, I don’t have any “before” photos. The reason is two-fold: it didn’t occur to me to take any photos (I didn’t really plan on seeing THIS BIG of a difference, espesh not so soon), and secondly, if you think I’m going to post of a photo of myself with dark undereye circles, you’re clearly still drunk from last night.
DCED retails for $85 bucks, and comes with 60 capsules, a 2-month supply. That roughly works out to about $1.40 a capsule, and it’s worth every penny.
DISCLOSURE: Jan Marini’s PR babe, who is way rad, sent this to me for editorial review. I’m pretty sure it was her nice way of telling me to get some sleep.
