BREN’S TEN is a new weekly feature in which I give you a list of 10 awesome products I’m into, outfits I dig, or whatever happens to make the damn list -it’s MY ten! And yes, I ripped off that name from Juno, but not blatantly. I mean, my name is BREN. Besides, “Bren’s Menz” didn’t make sense (OMG, new column idea?!?!). ANYWAY. This week, take a sneak peek into my “office” to see my initial thoughts on a few beauty products I’ve been testing recently. I’ll getcha some in-depth reviews, photos, and fun “Brenitorials” throughout the next couple of weeks. Blogging takes time, babes.
3LAB Perfect BB: The first “BB Cream” I ever had the pleasure of trying – and the last one I’ll ever use. I live and die by this BB Cream (the dying part comes from the $95 price tag). Since I am no longer employed by their PR firm, I can let the love flow without any messy conflicts-of-interest.
Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in “Siren”: This is one of the only colors on the market that has a chance of permanently stealing me away from my signature gold-flecked black eyeliner. In the words of Lil’ Wayne, I don’t think it’s beautiful, I think it’s beyond it.
Mario Badescu Summer Shine Lotion: I haven’t yet found the words to describe this lotion, and it’s only been in my possession for about 3 days. The best I can come up with so soon is “FUCKING. DELICIOUS.,” because that’s how it smells. “Sexy summer sexiness” comes pretty close to accurately describing it as well.
Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Cuticle Eraser + Balm: I’ve had this sitting in my “office” for about a month (okay, longer), but dug it out upon hearing Ms. Retrodiva preach the beauty bible on it. And let me say, it’s a nail biter’s dream come true. I’ve been using this since Friday; it’s Sunday evening and I’m already seeing a difference. Take that, crappy cuticles!
Nair Brazilian Spa Clay Face Cream Hair Remover: I can now start doing posts on my favorite lipstick colors with photos of me wearing them, because I don’t have a mustache anymore. True story. Oh, Nair, I’m pretty sure my threader is going to be pissed off at you.
Essie Nail Polish in “Camera”: I have approximately 100 nail polishes to swatch/review/try out, but haven’t been able to because I refuse to take this off. It’s a neon coral pink creme (more red than pink, more pink than orange) fresh off Essie’s “Poppy Razzi” Collection, and you should buy it RIGHT NOW. It makes me look oh-so-tan.
Demeter “Salt Air” Cologne Spray: I spray this all over my sheets, activate my “Sleepmaker: Ocean Waves” app, and pretend I’m sleeping seaside. Delusional? Maybe. Effective? Hell yeah.
The second coming of Hello Kitty x Vans is HERE, bitchez! Hell yeah! You might remember Sanrio & Vans partnering up last year for an inaugural collection of some sweet Hello Kitty shoes. This remix, if you will, not only features shoes, it also boasts APPAREL & ACCESSORIES. I was lucky enough to snag a pair of kicks & some other goodies to review for ya. And! VANS Warped Tour comes to LA-ish this week. Feel free to buy me tickets, so I can wear my Hello Kitty vans and relive my high school years / watch Taking Back Sunday at the same time. I’ll Brenstagram it for you, I swear.
Jan Marini Antioxidant Daily Face Protectant SPF 30: My love for this product is known FAR and WIDE, but I’ve recently been using the tinted version and all I can say is that for me, it is a GAME. CHANGER.
Make Up For Ever Aqua Shadow is all the rage right now, but I’ve yet to make a decision on it. I’ll tell you something, though, that #30E shade sure is pretty. Let’s save the in-depth review for a brunch sesh later this week. I’ll bring the makeup, you bring the mimosas.
BOOM! There ya go. My ten of the moment; too bad my name doesn’t rhyme with the #5. What can I say, I work hard for the beauty. So, which post are you looking most forward to seeing?! And what beauty products or fashion must-haves are you super into lately?
